Pulse

The Pulse package does not contain anything as advertised on the demo page.

I purchased Pulse expecting to receive the Pulse built with Laravel 11 and React, but I only received Laravel, and it's still version 9. If this is indeed the intended experience, I would like a refund.

having thought a bit more about the upgrade to Laravel 10, the major sticking point was actually getting Laravel to use Webpack again instead of Vite, which was a bit tricky.

This was probably a side effect of using the Bootstrap version of Metronic, perhaps the tailwind version works better

I think Laravel should provide better backward compatibility for webpack and bootstrap considering how widely used they are, but that's another discussion

Yes, the Metronic version with Bootstrap for Laravel 11 can be a bit of a headache to update, whereas the Tailwind version is really straightforward. I also think the Metronic team dropped the ball with their announcement because Laravel 11 completely changed its structure. There’s no incompatibility, but it’s simpler now since a lot of things that developers usually wouldn’t change are now part of the framework structure (vendor). I even updated from 9 to 10 and then from 10 to 11 without any issues, but I’m opting to rewrite everything directly in 11. Knowing that version 12 is coming next year, it feels like the right choice. Thanks for your comment, and if you need any help, feel free to reach out to me!

Hi Alex,

Thanks for leaving a comment, it's helped me

I have used Metronic for a few years now and I'm upgrading my projects from Laravel 10 to 11 so started having a look around to see if Metronic had a release that plays nice with Laravel 11 and upgrade both at the same time.

Based on your comment it seems Metronic is not really 11 ready.

However this may help you - I am pretty sure I put Metronic straight onto Laravel 10 at the start of this year and it worked with little or no mods.

The upgrade to 11 may break something but hopefully should be straightforward based on previous upgrades.

That said the Metronic theme is quite tightly bound to Laravel, so breaking changes might need fixing in the theme classes which would be a bit of a headache. I'll find out soon.

I'm running the Bootstrap version, so my comments apply to that. Not sure if you're running Tailwind from comments.

None of what I'm saying is meant to excuse Metronic advertising the framework as Laravel 11 and then shipping with 9! Not great

All things considered I've used a fair few UI frameworks over the years and Metronic is IMO miles ahead of anything else.

Hi Alex,

I would like to apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you.

The Metronic Pulse is an add-on for Metronic React Tailwind. Currently, it consists of the Authentication API, Users Management CRUD API, Teams CRUD API, and Swagger doc, we are planning to include more API in the upcoming releases.

Metronic React Tailwind is already connected to the API, to connect Metronic Pulse to React Tailwind you just need to update VITE_APP_API_URL variable in .env.

However, the documentation states that it's a Laravel 11 project, which implies it would be built on the new Laravel 11 structure. I received a project in Laravel 9, not even version 10, and it's incompatible with PHP 8.4. Moreover, simply upgrading it wouldn’t allow me to take advantage of the streamlined structure of Laravel 11.

For this reason, the project is not compatible with my needs. It doesn't make sense to purchase something advertised as current but built with outdated technology. From my perspective, it should either be developed using Laravel 11 or clearly stated in the documentation that it’s a Laravel 9 project and requires the buyer to upgrade from Laravel 9 to 10 and then to 11.

Hi Alex,

Once again I want to apologize for the inconvenience it causes you.

The latest Metronic Pulse is currently in based on Laravel 9 and the description of the product is not correct we will do our best to release a new update within this week with migration to Laravel 11.
