Laravel api is missing verify_token


I have tried to setup the backend Laravel for Metronic vue, but it cannot fully login because it can't verify the token. It is getting a 404 on
I checked the Laravel code, and there is no reference whatsoever to verify_token.

Our API code used in SPA version was removed from the latest Metronic Laravel Starterkit.

You can find Metronic Laravel legacy version with API source code in this zip files.
