I'm working on the redesign of with another designer, and they shared the file with all the necessary permissions so we can collaborate on it. However, Figma still shows that I don't have editing rights. What could be the issue?

If you are using Metronic theme from Themeforest the Figma file is available in your ThemeForest download zip, under design.
