Metronic with React development methodology


I wondered what is the best methodology to develop based on Metronic with React.
I installed the demo and it’s all working well. But I see that all components are in the _metronic folder. Is it advisable to leave them there and modify them, or is it better to create a new folder and make copies? I was wondering about that in prevision of future updates.
What is, in your opinion, the best methodology to implement?

We highly recommend separating theme files from your own files since it will help you to apply future updates easily.

Most probably, you will want to modify files in _metronic/layout and _metronic/partials folders to remove our demo code, but _metronic/helpers and _metronic/assets can stay untouched. Later, after we release a new update, you can download the latest version and easily replace these folders to apply all the latest changes.
