Metronic Upgrade

I have a few questions about today's Metronic update.

  1. why did you remove the button classes like: Success, Warning, Info? Will they still be usable or will they follow in one of the updates to fit the style?

  2. license: Did I understand correctly that the Tailwind version is now OpenSource and you don't have to buy another license for each project?

  3. will there be as many components (or more) available in the future than in the Bootstrap version? What I miss, for example, is something like Tagify, Select2, FullCalendar etc.

Hi,

  1. According to the Metronic's new design system, success, waring buttons are no longer used in the UI. However you can create custom buttons using Tailwind CSS classes. We will add samples for custom buttons in the ktui.io docs. Currently actions buttons use: primary, secondary and destructive(danger) states. This covers 99% of UI/UX needs. We need to keep the code and css size compact as much as possible.

  2. We have just released a new component library: ktui.io as open source and Metronic uses it's components as base components and nothing is changed in terms of license for Metronic itself. Metronic's unique templates, pages, apps and UI blocks are still under themeforest licenses.

  3. Yes, we will push more components from now on. Select and Datepicker are almost ready for release. And other components will be added quickly into KtUI and Metronic will instantly use them.

Regards, Sean

So I understand correctly that if I do my project only with KTUI, I can keep it OpenSource, but as soon as I use something from Metronic, it can no longer be OpenSource and I need a new licence for each project.

And Metronic will then have more features than KTUI, as KTUI only provides the basis?

Are components like those available in REUI also to be expected? (Will there be the same things in both?) For example, the combobox

Hi,

Yes, correct. the code used from Metronic requires meeting the Metronic's license terms.

KtUI is a library of base components while Metronic is a complete template with pages, app concepts and more.

We will keep KtUI and ReUI synched as we go.

Regards,
Sean
