RoR 7 Project merging with Metronic 8

Hey guys, thanks for helping me first and foremost!
I have an existing RoR application. Rails 7.0.5 and Ruby 3.2.2.
I downloaded the Metronic package, unzipped everything and played for two (2) days around, finding out on how to merge or implement the Metronic files into an existing RoR project. Since I use Rails 7 and not 6, there aren´t any guides which could help me.

First question: Should i try to merge the RoR starterkit application into my existing RoR application? I´ve encountered numerous obstacles doing this, and its not working, either my existing project´s pages are made useless , or they don´t render at all.

Second question: Should I add all the css and js into my existing RoR application as shown in your tutorials, and then copy the necessary views out of rails starterkit application? That didnt work neither, I cant fix most of the problems, or it would take me a week to do so.

Third question: Everytime I try to download from the layout-builder, the download gets interrupted half a second after trying to download it. Anything I didnt catch?

Please provide me a solution so I can work with your wonderful templates. Thank you!

Hi Maximilian,

Thank you for reaching out. Merging the Metronic template with an existing Rails project can be a bit tricky, especially when there are version differences like in your case with Rails 7.

While it's possible to merge the Rails Starter Kit with your existing Rails project, it can be quite complex and prone to issues, especially considering the differences between Rails 6 and 7. If you're encountering problems and your existing project's pages are breaking, it might be due to conflicting assets, libraries, or configurations.

Layout Builder Download Issue : If you're facing issues with downloading from the layout builder, it could be due to network problems, browser issues, or even server-related glitches. I recommend trying a different browser, clearing cache and cookies, or attempting the download on a different network to see if the issue persists.

Given your scenario and the potential complexities of merging, I would suggest a slightly different approach:

- Utilize the Layout Builder to create the layout you desire. Export the layout partials such as header, sidebar, footer, and content area.
- Integrate these exported partials and incorporate into your existing Rails project one by one.
- Adjust the paths and references in the partials as needed to ensure everything aligns properly with your existing project's structure.

This approach allows you to take advantage of Metronic's design without directly merging entire projects. It also provides more control over integration, as you'll be adding components step by step.

If you encounter specific issues during integration, don't hesitate to ask for assistance or provide more details for targeted guidance.

Thanks

Hey there, I tried all of the mentioned options:
"Layout Builder Download Issue : If you're facing issues with downloading from the layout builder, it could be due to network problems, browser issues, or even server-related glitches. I recommend trying a different browser, clearing cache and cookies, or attempting the download on a different network to see if the issue persists."

But nothing seems to work, 3 browsers, cleared the cache, 2 networks.
Any way I can download the Demo1 as dark theme, dark sidebar, minimize toggle, hoverable, default minimized, header fixed on desktop, content menu, page title - column, toolbar and aside display no, footer all no. thank you

Hi,

To assist you further, I've generated the partials files for the specific configuration you mentioned..

You can download the partials files from the following link:

If you encounter any issues or need additional assistance, feel free to reach out. Your feedback is important.
