How can I update from 8.1.2 to the most recent without damaging the structures that I already have?


Hello, I have the version of metronic 8.1.2 and I want to update it to the most recent one, how can I update the packages without damaging the views that I have created with version 8.1.2

Hi,

Metronic v8.1.2 and the latest v8.1.8 is quite close and you can migrate to v8.1.8 by using replacing the src and merging back if you have any custom js and sass code. Also in v8.1.8, we migrated the UI icons to KeenIcons, our in-house designed new icon set.

Please backup your code and try to migrate it and if you need any help please let us know.

Then recompile your assets folder with Gulp or Webpack.

Please note that the build tools are required only in the development environment just to compile the assets when the source folder files are modified. In the hosting/server deployment, you will only need the compile assets, no need to install the build tools dependencies there.
