Metronic 8.1.6 Laravel demo1 login not working

I've downloaded metronic_laravel_v8.1.6_demo1.zip from https://devs.keenthemes.com/metronic/laravel and after installing dependencies and setup database, login does not works, it simply redirects to root.

I've followed the instructions at https://preview.keenthemes.com/laravel/metronic/docs/getting-started

Please download the latest version v8.1.7. The issue should be fixed in the latest version.
